OK, after knowing what the computer virus is, now it’s time to go further on how to protect your computers from Viruses. For that I’ll make simple analogy; you will NOT get the best of your cars if you never know the best part of it. Knowing better your cars will also save you from car maintenance hassles because you already know the routine schedule to do maintenance. We will do the same thing with your computer, you will get nothing than hassles if you know nothing about your computer. Computers and cars are tools that will help our live but you can’t get advantages from it if you know nothing about it.

Update, update, update
Always update your installed software with the newest release because most virus creator exploits these gaps. Computer software is created by human, and human tend not to be perfect including when developing software. Software development will always introduce bugs. That’s why you need to always stay alert on software updates. Joining computer related mailing list and forums might also help to get recent news.

Internet is dangerous thing
Internet especially web is widely used now and most people use it for anything. Just keep in mind that not all things in internet are good. Some of them are bad and also dangerous for your system. Pay attention where you browse from one site to another and pay more attention if there is alert on a specific site.

Don’t install anything
Installing some software is good to enhance your works with computers, but be careful that not all software is good. Some of them also equipped with small program to infect your system. Make your self clear about the software when installing something; never click the OK button without thinking twice.

Use antivirus software
The easiest way to protect your system is using antivirus utility. In the next article I will describe more on how to select antivirus software that will suit best with your need and budgets.

Get some help
People can not do everything by themselves, people need help from another. That rule also applied in computer world, if know nothing about computers, finding the best partners to maintain and manage your computer is better that doing trial and errors procedures by your self. But, if you are ready with the damage caused by that trial and error effort, doing everything by yourself will also make some advantage that you can learn something from that. In last, you can know better about computers, especially your computers.
